Innovation in Sound Distribution with Televic Unite

On Friday, January 10, 2025, Denys’ annual QSHE staff day took place at the Waaslandhallen in Temse. This large-scale event, organized by Huzaar with duvall as its AV partner, brought together over 1,100 participants for a day of exciting sessions and interactive workshops. For sound distribution in 20 different zones and voting in four of these rooms, the Televic Unite system was used for the first time – an innovative and efficient solution that offered clear added value compared to traditional infrared distribution.

Silent Conferencing: Flexibility in 20 Zones

During the QSHE staff day, 20 zones were set up for silent conferencing. In each zone, we provided:

• 1 handheld microphone
• 2 bodypack transmitters (one for the speaker and one for audio from a laptop).

With 1100 receivers and headsets, all participants had access to the sessions. A particular challenge was the English-speaking group of 100 people, who moved from zone to zone. Their interpreter followed along with a handheld microphone and used the same Unite receivers as the rest of the participants.

In one particular area, we provided a simultaneous translation setup with an interpreter booth for Dutch-French. The translation was broadcast via Unite, eliminating the need for additional tour guide systems .

Why Televic Unite? The Strong Benefits

The choice of the Televic Unite system proved to be a hit.

Unite uses DECT technology, which offers significant advantages over traditional infrared distribution:

1. Better Coverage and Freedom of Movement

DECT receivers operate anywhere within range of the transmitters. Infrared requires direct line-of-sight and limits participants’ freedom of movement. With Unite, participants could move freely between zones without losing signal.

2. Easy Configuration and Less Equipment

Unite eliminates the need for lengthy cabling and heavy, obtrusive infrared emitters. Additional mixing desks were also unnecessary. Unite’s microphones, transmitters and receivers functioned as an all-in-one solution, making setup considerably faster.

3. Flexible User Experience

One Unite receiver allowed participants to select all channels. Automatic synchronization through the charging case saved logistical effort, something that often had to be done manually for each zone with infrared.

4. Seamless Integration of Translation.

Unite facilitated simultaneous translation without additional equipment. Both the English-speaking group and the Dutch-French translation simply used the same receivers, which kept the setup compact and uncluttered.

5. Reliable Audio and Minimal Interference

DECT operates on a secure spectrum, virtually eliminating interference from other wireless devices or bright light (which can occur with infrared).

6. Efficiency during the Event

With its easy operation and stable performance, only one technician was needed for ongoing support. Less equipment and less set-up time translate directly to lower costs and smoother running of the event.

Voting: Interactivity with 400 Voting Boxes

In addition to sound distribution, we provided interactive voting in four zones. One of the sessions, organized by Drivolution, covered road safety and engaged participants with a series of 20 questions.

For this, we used the Interactive Voting System and 400 voting boxes.

Participants could vote directly and the results were analyzed in real time, leading to a dynamic and engaging session.

A Prime with Future

The QSHE Staff Day 2025 marked a first for the cooperation between duvall and Huzaar. Where infrared distribution was previously the standard, the Televic Unite system demonstrated its strength as a more efficient and flexible alternative. With less set-up time, lower costs and a user-friendly experience for both technicians and attendees, Unite is undoubtedly a solution with a future.
